Fitting your new plates

Get the details right

Plan adhesive, screw or holder mounting before you remove the old set.

Check the new set first

Compare the registration, front/rear colours, sizes and order specification before fitting. Stop and contact us if anything differs or the plates arrive damaged. Keep packaging and order details while a problem is being resolved.

Adhesive mounting

  1. Check that your mounting surface and selected pads are suitable.
  2. Remove old residue without damaging the vehicle surface.
  3. Clean and fully dry the area using products appropriate for that surface.
  4. Dry-position the plate and mark its alignment.
  5. Apply the pads and fit following their manufacturer’s instructions, including pressure, temperature and curing requirements.

Screws and holders

Use existing vehicle mounting points where appropriate. If drilling is required, obtain instructions for your exact plate construction. Support the plate, avoid raised lettering and keep fixings away from characters. Do not overtighten or assume every acrylic construction can be drilled in the same way.

Before driving

  • Check attachment, alignment and visibility.
  • Keep letters unobscured by fixings or trim.
  • Check adhesive security after the specified curing period.
  • Inspect the mounting periodically.

Ask a professional fitter if your recess, materials or attachment method are uncertain.
